Thanks for reading my review and I included the link to a printer that I would recommend, it uses a separate black ink cartridge(optional and must be purchased separately about $20.00)for text printing. If go back and click on the link in my review you will be able to read a review on this other printer. As far as the canon printers go I don't have much experience with Canon printers, but if their photo printers have a separate cartridge to be used for text printing then they would be fine.

I just bought this printer but I now have second thoughts due to your review and will return it immediately.
I'm just wondering if all photo printers seem to lack quality in printing text documents or do you have any favorite printer brands? What about Canon printers?
