Pros:Ease of use, Compatability, high quality color for price paid
Cons:slow printing speed
The Bottom Line: Outstanding ease of use and quality. Actually a $200 dollar printer for 1/4 the price. Good prints and affordable printer
What a great value, the other day I went into the local Staples office supply store and in the bargain bin I found a Desk jet sans the box sitting in the bin. Marked down from $75 to $50. So I picked it up. Now when you but a machine like this it is a hit or miss deal. The store manager assured me that it worked, it had been a demo model last year. Well with a dose of hope I scooped it up under my arm and trotted home. My wife giving me scowls when I came thru the door and hooked the printer up replacing my old Xerox multi- task machine. (which the printer function now is a joke as the paper feeder has failed, see my addition to that product in my opinions) Well plug and play of win 98 picked it up and with out a snag. But just to be sure I logged in and picked up the updated driver from Hpdrivers.com well within 10 minutes I had some realestate listings I needed to blow out. Well it was working better that the old Xerox. High quality prints and oh so nice. The Printer refills are much less costly than the $35 for the Xerox. And all appears to be fine with the machine. It has performed flawlessly so far. It’s signature on my desk is smaller and I’ll keep the Xerox for the Fax and Scanner functions. So to date I can definitely recommend the HP desk jet for price and quality. I’ll update the listing should anything develop but with the HP I can say that will be quite a while i
