| mrohde's Full Review: Hewlett Packard DeskJet 845c InkJet Printer |
Having used numerous printers on the past couple years HP never ceases to amaze me with both quality and price. The 845C hasn't failed to do so.
As a replacement for an older HP 600c, I was looking for a low-end color printer that supported dual print cartridges. I stumbled upon this gem when wondering through Office Max with a sale price of $99 and a $20 rebate offer. Of course I couldn't pass it up!
The install process was simple; the epitome of plug and play. Although the drivers were not available in the XP driver library the setup and support with the install CD immediately recognized the printer connected to the USB port and generated a test page.
This printer’s quality shines with both standard and non-standard use. I have been impressed with the quality of output for both photographs and professional letters. Although whites in photographs often display hues of adjoining color it is acceptable quality and the fonts are crisp and clean enough to provide impact on marketing materials.
Beyond the standard use I have usefully used this printers to print postcards for a marketing campaign, which included graphics, as well as constantly printing envelopes and letterhead for professional services. This printers has flawlessly printed directly on envelops and 5x8 index cards without the common mis-feeds I have experiences in larger more expensive printers.
This printer is a great addition to any home office.
