jeffwilhelm's Full Review: Hewlett Packard LaserJet 5000gn Printer
Here at work we do a lot of printing. There are laser printers scattered throughout the building -- some closer than others -- but when I need something printed fast and wonderful I always choose the 5000. Sure, it's a minute walk, but the printout is always waiting for me when I get there, beautiful, sharp text, wonderfully done gradients, nice graphics...
It is a sleek looking printer too. HP put subtle curves on the sides, and gave it a nice look. Sure, grey isn't the most exciting color, so HP put a little color into the LCD. The printer looks as good as it's output, but still fits in nicely with the blah office decor.
Another nice feature of this printer is the Infared port mounted on the side. I don't know if it came with it, but I use the one we have here all the time. I have my Visor cradle at home, so if I want to print an e-mail or a memo from my Visor, all I have to do is walk up to printer, stand a few feet away from it, and print directly to the printer. The data travels through the infared connection, and usually about 10 seconds after pressing print on the Visor a page is waiting on the printer.
I love this printer, and I know you will too. The Staples in my area has one on display, so if you're in the market go check it out!
