There are two component video inputs as well as two composite and S-video inputs. Besides Analog speaker outputs there is also an AV output. A DVI input helps keep the set in pace for the future.
As far as quality and durability goes it's curiously light at only about 180 lbs. About 2 months after purchase, I noticed a small group about the size of a pinhead of permanent cyan pixels on the screen. If it was located near the center of the screen, it might be mildly irritating.
I was disappointed that I could not view 2.35 DVDs in progressive scan without small black bars on top and bottom. However, after making some adjustments (mostly contrast related) with the picture and DVD player, I was able to come up with something that looked almost as good as the progressive scan mode. I was then able to use the aspect control to format the picture to fill the screen. The setup menu is simple, intuitive, and provides a nice array of features. You may want to turn auto-tuning off; sometimes it gets confused and reformats the screen with gray bars at the side, but it doesn't stay that way for long and reverts back to the proper mode.
The only other qualm was with the non-removable glass shield that reflects windows and lamps in perfect detail. If you place the set opposite a window, then you will need solid curtains or blinds.
Oh, the sound? It's ok I guess. But your not going to watch a 61" screen without a 5.1 receiver setup are you?
