Pros: Inexpensive, long battery life,Holds huge amount of songs,You DON'T have to use MusicMatchJukebox!
Cons: Those Cheesy "headphones"
The Bottom Line: The RCA Lyra is visually appealing, well thought out , completely upgradable, excellent sounding and superior to players that are twice the price.

| grandmasterb's Full Review: RCA Lyra RD1021 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I Got my 1021 RCA lyra about a month ago too use while I work. It has 64MB internal memory, which I can store about 30 songs on when using 64 kbps (CD Quality). I also purchased a 256MB Secure Digital Media Card. In total I can cram about 160 songs on this little puppy. That is a whole lotta music! I take all the high bitrate songs , 112kbps 160 kbps etc. and convert them to WMA files at 64 kbps. This only takes a few seconds per song and is well worth the time. It literally cuts the file size in half. I do not like Music Match Jukebox and I do NOT use it. I usually use Windows Media Player to convert the bitrate and transfer the files to the Lyra. This is much easier than dealing with the difficult layout of MMJB. It is also easy to just drag and drop files directly to the Lyras 64 MB internal memory or the Removable 256MB Secure Digital Card. If you double click on My computer you'll see Icons and a drive letter for the RCA Lyra 64MB and for the Removable Card (if you have added a flash card )From here you can easily add or remove files from the Lyra and even create seperate folders for different genres right on the Lyra. This MP3 is definately worth the money. The velcro "arm pouch" that comes with the player is a little bit cheesy (probably good if you were jogging). But if you remove the elastic strap from the pouch it easily slips right on your belt ,if you wear one. My only complaint is that the headphones that come with it are incredibly painful to wear for more than a few minutes. So I would plan on getting some $10 earbuds to go with your Lyra. Did I mention that it is compatible with future media formats including MP3Pro. It is easily upgradable by visiting the Lyra website.
