| jasonb824's Full Review: RCA Lyra RD1071 (128 MB) MP3 Player |
This player is like a feather. I always leave it in my my pocket or jacket pocket. It has great sound and never skips. I got 23 songs on it (all mp3s and some were more than 128k) so I probably could have gotten up to 30 if they were 128k. It is a card slot for mmc/sd cars which you can get cheap on ebay. I just bought a 64mb for $20 to upgrade the player to 192. I just use the player like a hardrive and copy and paste my mp3s on and therefore bypass musicmatch.
All the mp3pro and other random problems discussed in earlier reviews have been remedied in a firmware upgrade. Go to the website and upgrade right away and follow the directions to the letter on there. Do this first because it has to wipe the player clean to upgrade. Don't install the drivers from the cd, use the ones that come with the firmware update.
It comes with an arm band and is light which is good for the gym. The headphone have clips to stay on, but they pus my ears down and can get ubncomfortable. I use my sony headphones with clips instead. A belt clip would have been nice. Arm band can get uncomfortable when doing biceps. Battery life is good. One triple a gets 6 hours i'd say. If you have a recharger, get like four rechargeables, and you are set.
