The Bottom Line: Don't buy this player. It is poorly made and has some serious problems.

This MP3 player is for the budget conscious MP3 novice who isn't really interested in function flexibility and unit durability. I bought this unit because it was cheap and expandable (SD card are getting so cheap now that you can make this a 2.25 GB player for an additional $70). The battery life of this unit is excellent (one AAA lasts about 15 hours). However, about two months into the life of the player, it would start locking up after the battery had run half-way down. The only way to fix this problem was to remove the battery. This player has no frills. The graphic equalizer settings are ok, but there is no user defined setting. The signal/noise ratio is good. As usual the headphones that come with the unit are worthless (I have a pair of Shure earbuds - great earbuds if you have the money).
Now for the bad - as mentioned earlier, this unit does not have an FM tuner, or in-line recorder. This unit does not allow you to sort through the music on your player, so it is very difficult to find a particular song (you have to scroll through every song - and the songs are listed alphabetically by artist). This is a real pain in the a$$ if you want to find a particular track that is half of the alphabet away. This player does not have a bookmark feature for those who listen to exceedingly long track such as audio books; so you will have to scroll to the point in the track where you were when you last left off. This unit is also not very durable. I use it to work out, and after a couple of drops the unit became very touch sensitive. It is too the point now that if you touch it in the right place (on the back of the unit) it will immediately turn off. This issue is very annoying when the player is in your pocket, bumps your keys and suddenly turns off. Even with the protective coating of the arm-band, bumps will cause the unit to shut off.

Spend a little extra and buy a better player (see Cnet for their budget MP3 player recommendations). This player is poorly made and RCA's product support is a joke.
