I can't write this opinion from a real technical point of view. I just don't have the knowledge. I did not go purchase this piece of equipment on my own. I had to have help.
When I wanted better sound from my home theater system, I went to the closest thing to a sound expert that I know, my brother. He took me and we looked at many receivers, believe me when I tell you that he was thorough. We finally decided on the Denon AVR 4802.
I now have a great sounding system (and isn't that really all that matters). My sound quality is greatly improved, and has made movies and such much more enjoyable.
The cost was reasonable as far as what we were looking at. There were more expensive models with a lot more features, but I wanted something that I would be able to use with my limited technical knowledge.
I was a little disappointed with the warranty that I received, but it was okay. Just okay.
The Denon is well built, although a bit heavy. I could not have gotten it in and in place by myself. I'm hoping that heavy and well built makes up for the so-so warranty.
As far as durability goes, it is still too soon to tell, but I have had no problems so far.
The one feature I would improve on is the remote, which is still kind of tricky to me. Of course my 11 year old can use it just fine. Compared to remotes on my other equipment I find that it just has too many steps which makes it kind of a hassle. But I am just a non technical female type.
All in all, I think that I got a good buy in this piece of equipment.
