Cons: Fire hazard if placed in a stereo cabinet or enclosed space.
The Bottom Line: AVOID - Cannot be placed in any enclosed bookshelf or stereo cabinet - Fire hazard.

Bought this receiver based on several on-line reviews and Consumer Reports. Upon reading instruction saw, "DO NOT PLACE THIS UNIT IN A STEREO CABINET OR SIMILAR ENCLOSED SPACE OR IT WILL OVERHEAT AND POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE (MIGHT ALSO VOID WARRANTY). I immediately returned it since I put my stereo equipment in a stereo cabinet with other equipment. Since I believe most people put their equipment in a stereo cabinet or similar enclosed space with DVD players, CD players, tape decks, phonograph players,etc., I cannot recommend this stereo to anyone except those who might place it on top of a cabinet or table or something with lots of ventilation. I cannot rate the receivers performance since I could not use it.
