Based on numerous reviews of this product, including Consumer Reports I bought the SA-HE100. I am very pleased with the overall performance of this receiver. Lots of clean power. Those considering this model should recognize that the Panasonic High Current Amps run hotter than others so give the unit sufficient ventilation space. I wouldn't be concerned about over heating, though. This receiver has a built-in cooling fan. This product is an outstanding value for any home theater system.
As for the remote, lose it. Some functions are difficult to use, some are missing, but that doesn't matter because you can't read it anyway. The buttons are too small and the color coding on the face isn't readable except in bright light.
Some of the sound fields are confusing to operate and while there is a matrix in the manual, it really doesn't cut it. You just have to work through each field and see how it suits a particular sound source.
