It's hard to believe that one can purchase a receiver this powerful and complete for under $2000. It's a miracle that it lists for $1000. The fact that you can purchase it online for around $600 makes this one of the great audio values in years. The bottom line is that this is probably the last receiver most of us will ever buy. It is a massive (50 pounds) incredibly well-built unit with extraordinary power and options. With Dolby-EX, DTS-ES, Pro Logic II, Digital Cinema Sound, and multiple tweaks for each one, it is hard to imagine the need to replace this receiver any time in the foreseeable future. Oh, and in case I didn't mention sound, it is, in a word, incredible. Walk - no, run! to your nearest retailer and purchase one of these babies ASAP. Even at the list of $1000 you'll think you stole it from someone. Sony continues to outdo itself with its ES line.
