rambo911's Full Review: Advent Acoustic Research AR 10V (AR-10V) Surge Sup...
I just purchased the acoustic research AR-10V online and hooked it up. What a great surge protector! The first thing i noticed was the large number of outlets. If you are anything like me, when you hook up all of your audio/visual equipment it seems like everybody is fighting for a plug in. Some times decisions have to be made, like: "how much do we really use the vcr, cant we just plug it in when we do?" Debate no more! With ten outlets all of your stuff can all be plugged in at the same time in harmoney. Two of the plugs are also wide, in case you have to plug in a large item, like a charger of some sort. Another nice thing is an 8 foot power cord for those outlets out in the middle of no where(when they are building houses do they do this on purpose?!). This item carries a $75,000 equipment warranty on the off chance it fails during high voltage. I would say this is pretty reassuring to say the least. AR is know for making good quality moderate priced home theater equipment. One thing the advertisments about this suprisingly doesnt mention is that it has a built in noise filter similar to some of monster cables higher end surge preotectors. Its called FNT and filters out alot of the junk like when your fridge kicks on and the power flucuates. If the power does surge or spike this baby can handle up to 1736 joules, which is a lot of electricity! So far i would recommend this and i can now sleep a lot better knowing that all my equipment is safely protected.
