This is my second breadmaker, my first being an OLD Welbilt that died several years ago. Since then I've bee making bread the old-fashioned way, but when I saw this machine on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart for only $20 (!!!!) I couldn't resist. Now that I've used it several times, I can say I would have been happy even if I'd spent 3 times as much. I've read a couple of opinions, here and on other sites, complaining about poor mixing results, especially for large wheat loaves. I have had NO such problems. As another member stated, my model does not look like the one pictured, and must be a newer year-model. It is more contoured and has a horizontal loaf (very nice!). It always mixes easily and completely. You may be able to get fancier machines, with more than 8 cycle choices, but not for this price (I think they're usually about $50). It even has 3 crust-darkness settings. Important tip: the measuring and temp of ingredients for ANY breadmaking is VITAL! This machine includes good instructions and a few good recipes...follow them to the letter and you'll be pleased with the results. I can't wait to try the "sticky buns" recipe another member has listed! Thanks!
