foxmccloudds's Full Review: Resident Evil 4 for GameCube
First before I start my review, let me just say that this game is easily the best game to ever hit the gamecube.
When you power up your GameCube and start the game, you will see a start-up movie. The movie consists of info leading up to this point. You play as Leon Scott Kennedy, a retired Raccoon City Police Department officer. He has a new job now; He protects the President and his daughter Ashley. The game is about his first assignment, rescue the President's daughter.
The enemies are not zombies like in the last 60 games, they are ordinary people overrun by plague. The men infected are called the Los Ganados and Las Plagas. They are in a cult group called the LOS ILLUMINADOS.
The game has many great boss fights and one overall boss. His name is Osmund Saddler, leader of the Los Illuminados. His plan to infect the president's daughter and send her back to make a chain reaction, then rule the world.
The first thing that will stick out to you right away are the great controls. Do you remember the time when you bought that sweet new survival-horror game and started it up? It had some really great next gen graphics and a cool starting movie? Yeah it was that one that you couldn't play because of the crappy controls. Well in RE4 you get some great new controls and it's time for a change.
RE4 has a lot going for it. The graphics are some of the best ever in a game to date. The controls are great and there is such a moving storyline you're able to play through this game 6, 7 or maybe even 8 times. This game is right up there on my top 5 list now right next to Mario 3 and Ocarina of Time. That is the reason for the perfect score. A lot of people gave it this and I couldn't agree more!
