| stinkypete's Full Review: Rockford Fosgate Punch 250a2 Car Amp |
I've owned a Rockford Fosgate Punch 250a2 since 1999 and it still cranks it out. I've owned 3 cars so far and this amp has been in all of them. I purchased this amp after hearing it in a friends car and seeing the price $299. Installation was a bit tricky because of the location of all the plugs. current, its upsidedown in my jeep because the rca's were run on the left side and the power wire on the right. This amp will put out about 125 watts max @ 2 ohms and when bridged in a single channel - look out! Attached to this amp are 2 12'' MTX Blue thunder subs in a sealed box and this amp drives them all the way. I've been told that it sounds like I have 1000 watts in my truck and when I tell them it's only about 300, they look in disbelief. This amp puts out crisp clean sound. It does not clip, or cut off on me. The only configuration i have used this amp was in a single channel for the subs. I have never heard vocals with this amp. There are bass boost features and a built in crossover. The amp gets warm - naturally, but never hot. I'm using Rockford cables through and through and would recommend it for you as well.
