Rockford Fosgate has established itself as one of the leaders of the car audio world and the Punch 250@2 is just another example. The 250@2 offers the "standards" and a few of the bells and whistles that make it a strong contender. The standards are that every Rockford Fosgate amp comes equipped with DSM technology, MEHSA mounting technology, TOPAZ noise-killing differential inputs eliminate 80% of ground loop noise between the head unit and the amp, NOMAD advanced protection circuitry monitors temperature, voltage, current and impedence, and provides "intelligent" shut-down protection without limiting system performance, TRANS-ana circuit designs keep voltages low and signal paths simple in the pre-amp section, for minimum distortion and maximum musicality, INDIGO guarantees the highest possible power output under all conditions, by leaving the power supply unregulated at high input voltages (engine running), and loosely-regulated at lower voltages (engine off, drawing on your battery). You also have flexibility when it comes to wiring your 250@2 to your favorite speakers. Stereo, bridged mono, or Tri-Way output are what sets Rockford Fosgate out in front. Were other amps can't be bridged do to the possibility of a melt down, Rockford Fosgate amps can double their power. The 250@2 is only rated at a modest 125 watts x 2 channels but I have a 250@2 running 2 JL Audio 10w3 10" subwoofers that are rated at a whopping 250 watts rms. The Punch 250@2 pushes the speakers to their limits unbridged. Punch Bass provides a sharp bass boost at 45 Hz, just where it makes the most difference. Speaker-level inputs and a 3-year warranty help make this amp buyer friendly. So if your low on cash because you spent a fortune on your sub-woofers your can pick a 250@2 for just under $450 dollars.
