speeddemon72's Full Review: Rocky Mountain Range RMR-C450 Radar Detector
Hello. Rocky Mountain Radar (RMR) has the best product out there for detecting and jamming radar and laser from the police. Back in 1995 I had bought one of the first radar scramblers that RMR hade made. This was one that you had to use with a radar detector. I admit I was skeptical at first, but that all changed. I knew a guy that was a police officer back then and I asked him if he would mind testing out my RMR scrambler. He had to get permission from his sergeant, which he did. We went to an area where the speed limit was 40 MPH, and he told me to go ahead and go up about ½ a mile then turn back and come towards him at 40 MPH. I did this and then came back to where he was parked. I asked him, so what was my speed? He answered back with a smile, 40 MPH. He and I thought maybe a couple of things could have happened to allow the radar to get the speed. The first thing is he was already hitting my car with radar even before I turned around and came toward him. Second we thought maybe the scrambler didn’t jam radar at such a low speed. The officer then said to me lets go to the interstate where we can test it at 55 MPH. We went to the interstate and he told me this time go about three miles away from me, then exit and get back on the interstate coming towards me at 55 MPH. I did what he had suggested and turned back towards him. I was the only car at that time going by him, and this was during the day. I came back to where his car was parked, and asked him again, what was my speed? He said with eyes wide open what is that thing? He said I saw you coming, but the radar did not. He also said the radar finally popped up a speed of 55 MPH once I past the front of his car (Punch-Through). He showed me how far his radar could get the speed of a car that was approaching about a mile or more out. I have been using RMR products ever since this test. I can’t tell you how many times these scramblers have saved my family from tickets over 14 years and counting. I did get one ticket using the scrambler back in 1998, but it was my fault. I had the radio too loud and was not paying attention to the radar detector. A State Police car had already past me by going the opposite direction before I realized he was using radar. He turned around and pulled me over, and gave me a ticket for going 74 in a 55. This ticket would have never happened if I had paid attention to the radar detector in my windshield. I love to see the puzzled look on the faces of those cops using their radar…
By the way, this RadarRoy that is debunking these RMR products does not know how to test these scramblers correctly. I saw the videos he put on the Internet trying to say that the scramblers don’t jam radar. He either has the car go at a slow speed or he has radar on the target car from the get go. He just don’t know…
