Pros: large size refrigerator. deep shelves, nice finish
Cons: noisy operation, cheaply made product, made to sell at an inexpensive price point.
Regarding the loud rattling noise which sounds like a cricket inside your Samsung refrigerator, that sound probably comes from the fan which cools the compressor coils. The fan is located on the back of the refrigerator at the bottom behind a door secured with about eight screws That is where I traced the sound. It looks like the shaft on the fan wobbles which pushes against the ball bearings inside the motor creating a high pitched squeal. I attribute the noise from the shaft having become overheated and becoming bent thus causing the shaft to rotate in an elliptical path rather than a perfect circular path. I sprayed the shaft at the entry point to the motor with WD40 and this eliminates the noise completely but this fix only lasts for a few days. The motor should have self lubricating bearings and with the bent shaft of the fan turning on that elliptical path this means that the friction on those bearings will continue until the motor is changed on that fan. I called Samsung and since my refrigerator was purchased over one year ago my warranty is now over. All parts are warrantied for a year but the sealed compressor section is guaranteed for five years. I tried to explain to the Samsung representative over the phone that the fan should be included on the sealed system but that did not work. If the fan fails and the coils from the compressor become overheated the entire compressor could fail rendering the refrigerator inoperative. Unfortunately my argument feel on deaf ears.
I hope this helps you out.
Good luck with fixing your problem.
