camera is very light weight and small. pictures in dim light can be kinda out of focus and dark.(im sure there is a setting to fix that) there are SO many freakin features and settings! its rather complicated for the average joe like myself but the buttons are in the perfect place and the display is great.
camera also can accept MMC cards, SD cards AND memory sticks(DUO version of the sony memory stick, not the average one)
dont lose your users manual! you will need it. battery meter on the camera is not too accurate,so dont count on it. i have 2000mah rechargeable batteries and took between 70-100 pics on a single charge using viewfinder and flash while my battery meter was on the last line. so battery life is really good with rechargeables. with regular alkalines not so good but thats expected. it doesent come with rechargeables but does come with 2 primo duracells to get you started.
THANK GOD it takes just your average AA size batteries!! i HATE when you have to buy some crazy overpriced camera battery,i wouldnt even consider a camera that has to have "SPECIAL" batteries. besides, a primo set of 2000mah rechargeables on ebay go for roughly $1-$1.50 each!!(well worth the investment)
i havent really tried the video mode but who the heck shoots video with thier digital camera anyways? i mean its not worth it due to the memory demand and expeted $hitty result in comparison to an average camcorder. if you need to shoot any "worth while" video you shouldnt be using a digital camera anyways. so dont let that bother you when deciding to buy this camera
one thing i did not like at first was the battery compartment and the memory card compartment are in the same place. im used to the sony cybershot configuration with them being seperate. i got used to it though,no biggie!
the flash charge time can be slow at times when using the viewfinder. without the viewfinder the flash charge time is only like 2 seconds compared to around 7 seconds when your batteries are at the end
also comes with a perefect custom fit belt loop camera case! its very, very nice to have. all digital cameras should come with one. its the least they can do! sony charges like $30-$40 for one which is BS if you ask me
this camera has a TON of resolution, flash settings and picture modes. incredible!! you can also crop, edit and change your pics on the viewfinder. very cool feature!
i had it nearly a month and so far i love it. i really tried my a$$ off not like it(you know how that goes when you buy something new) but it totally won me over with the EXCELLENT picture quality and portability. price is right too for a 4mp camera! i havent seen one this cheap yet!(im sure i will though, you know how technology is)
it was $229 at sears but some places online have it for $189!! WELL,WELL worth the price!
im not a professional photographer by any means but to sum it up this camera is 100% well worth the money! if you want to take some pics of the kids and actually be able to print them out with great quality and frame them this camera is for you. hope the review helps.......
