Pros: Great toner life, no more dried-up or clogged ink cartridges.
Cons: Toner cartridges cannot be found locally, they must be ordered online.
The Bottom Line: Take your digital photos to the local pharmacy, and use this for the rest of your printing.

| jzorns's Full Review: Samsung ML1740 Laser Printer |
This has been the best printed I've ever had. For years, I fought a losing battle with the !#$%^ inkjet printers. I print mostly documents, but with the occasional photo thrown in. So I'd use the black ink cartridges, open a photo color cartridge, make a couple of good prints, and without fail, the next time I needed to make a color print, that cartridge would be clogged up.
Finally, I said "To hell with it" and bought my first laser printer. I had found that taking my digital photos to the local pharmacy or camera store yielded better color prints anyway.
We are so happy we've made this decision. Documents are crisp and dark black. No more jerking around with cleaning off old ink cartridges and finding that they don't work anyway.
On the stock cartridge, I probably only got a couple hundred pages. But I think they only fill those half full. We're on the second toner cartridge now, and it is going strong after at least that many.
The paper is easy to load, and has a good old fashioned mechanical indicator that shows how much paper is left in it.
The manual paper feeder in the front works great. Here's how it works: If there is paper in the manual feeder slot in the front, the printer pulls from there. If not, it pulls from the paper tray. When you need to print the odd legal size document or envelope, just feed it manually. The rest of the time, leave the printer to do its own thing.
