The Picture
Personally I have seen these TVs next to the Sony TVs at SEARS and Best Buy and I think Samsung has a better picture quality for the price. The line doubling technology is very evident when you watch TV. Regular cable looks much clearer on this TV, and a DVD's picture quality is so clear, you can actually see the improvement when you use component video cables instead of S-Video cable. (Component video cables provide a sharper, more clear and vivid image). Make sure you use a DVD with component out for this TV!
The Sound
Personally I don't buy a TV for its included speakers since I would rather use my stereo system for the sound; however, this TV is very well equipped with good speakers. The speakers by no means make an excellent sound system, but for speakers built into a TV, they are very impressive.
The Durability
I actually first purchased a returned model, and I was disappointed to find out why it was returned. The entire screen would turn green intermittently, as if the Red and Blue projectors had been disabled, so you could only see shades of green, black, and white. At first it would blink green on and off. Then it stays green for longer and longer periods, until the screen remained green for hours at a time. Unplugging didn't fix the problem and the screen would remain green regardless of input type (S-Video/Cable TV). The PIP was always in correct color oddly enough. However after I exchanged the returned TV for the floor model, I discovered how great this TV really is!
The Usability
Sure it has usability qwerks, but like anything else you get used to it very easily. I never had to consult the manual to figure anything out. Its all very intuitive and simple. There is nothing about the usability that should deter anyone from buying this TV
