I bought this TV about a year ago a a local hi-end retailer and got a very good deal as it was an open box, "shelf model" with a couple of minor scuffs. Compared to comparable Mitsubishi, Sony and other name brand models it was about 20% less money.
We've been very happy with it. The only things I don't like are the excessively curved screen (glare can be a bit of a problem) and the top of the case is highly sloped so you can't put anything on top without it teetering. I did add a universal adjustable shelf to the top (held in place with super strong foam tape) and it does securely hold a VCR and DVD now.
Although we don't use the menus very much, when you do accidentally hit the menu button, it's not easy to get out. You have to step through the menus on the screen top to bottom to exit. Pressing the menu key a second time, although intuitive, does not get you out.
The only other issue I have is the sound output, while good for such a mid-range TV, is too loud. We have the TV in our bedroom and for the longest time I'd have to use the bottom three or four "notches" on the volume. At that low end, each step is pretty big and it generally was hard to get a nice, low volume when one of us wanted to sleep as the adjustment was too "coarse" if that makes sense.
We recently went to DirecTV (from cable) and I solved the sound problem buy splicing in a volume pot on the back of the TV in line with the audio inputs from the sat receiver. I used this to attenuate the sound level before it got to the tv so "normal" range for us now is about mid-scale which works much better. I suppose one could put some clear plastic baffles over the speaker grilles to attenuate the sound too if you did not want to fiddle with the input pot like I did.
If I were shopping for another similar TV again, I would consider the same model but I'd honestly look for another brand with a less curved screen. Jumping up to a true flat screen is about double the money and might not be worth it for a "bedroom" TV.
