My Mustek 600 III EP Plus has been an overall good investment. This has been my first experience with a scanner and have enjoyed having it at my fingertips. My scanning pleasure only consist of occasional pictures for email and personal items. The software that came with the scanner was easy to install and has allowed me to work to accomplish my task. The price made it easy to purchase for a beginner.I did manage to break the lid with those flimsy plastic hinges that hold into place, but I am still able to scan.
I have learned that some of the cons to this scanner is the fact that is very noisy when scanning and scans a slow pace after seeing other scanners in process. At higher dpi is real slows to a snail pace at scanning. The lid offered very little support when opened causing it to break quickly. I found the cords are very short, but I believe that has to do with the ability to send the information and prints faster.
Being the beginner in the scanning phase I still have been able to get around the scanner and software to a level that I feel comfortable with.
