I bought this product to use for e-mail within Outlook. The good news: the software integrates well with Outlook and Word and is easy to install.
The bad news: The voice recognition engine is so inaccurate that the program is useless. I followed their recommendations and switched to an upgraded microphone. I also labored through the confusing "training sessions". All to no avail. After 4 hours of trying to "tune" the system, I was so frustrated that I wanted to pitch the whole contraption down the elevator shaft. I cannot begin to describe how terribly the software interprets my speech. (And, no, I don't have any accents or twangs or speech impediments to throw it off - in fact, most people would say I am a reasonably articulate person.)
So, I uninstalled the program and guess what? It hung my system so badly that it wouldn't shut down - even via the power switch. I had to disconnect the power cord as well as pull the battery in order to "un-hang" my new IBM T-40 laptop. When I tried to restart, it continued with problems until I reverted to a previous version of the operating system.
