fogman444's Full Review: Shadow Of Destiny for Windows
This is an incredible game, especially for the Star Wars line which is plagued by half-hearted or otherwise just bad games. However, this is a shining star, a delite for any star wars fan. Based on the Age of Empires engine, the game is rock solid. Build your army as any one of the six Star Wars civilizations available: The Empire, the Rebel Alliance, the Wookies, The Gungans, Trade Federation, or the Naboo. All units are appropriatly moddled after the civilizations as seen in the movies. Lucas Arts finally delivers on a spectacular game. Included in the game is a FULLY FEATURED map/senario editor which was obviously the same used by the developers. The Multiplayer feature on MSN's the Zone, is by far where this game shines. All the maps created by the large fan base are very original, one look online and maps such as "fortblood", "jedi fest", and "city build" are commonplace. A google search will also conjour up fan websites, specifically for SWGB map makers. Making your own map and hosting on the games online lobby is gratifing, and makes this games replayability delve into uncharted territory, we are talking years, not weeks. I'v played this game, with the expansion pack, for over a year already. This is one great RTS title that will stay around for a long while.
