| mainad's Full Review: Sharp Aquos LC-37HV4E 37 in. HDTV-Ready TV |
I'm one of those wives that had to be convinced to get a flat panel. This TV did the trick. We compared carefully and looked at many options, including plasma ED, plasma HD, LCD rear projection (which was warmly recommended to us), and even flat CRTs.
I was impressed by the picture quality, clarity and contrast of LCD panels in almost every store, but all of them were out of our price range or too small.
I found the 37" Aquos online for less than most EDTV plasmas. After seeing them in action and hearing of the superior life expectancy, power savings, and quiet operation (no fan necessary), there was no question for me to order it.
All I can say is: It ROCKS! The picture is bright enough to be viewed in full daylight and can be seen from ANY angle. Contrast is very nice (800:1)... you should see Nemo on this TV! The online configuration menus are simple and easy to navigate (similar to the menu bar in your favorite software app). Not to forget the lighted(!) universal remote that comes with this set... i was able to throw 5 other remotes into the far corner and use ONE!
The 37" is the biggest Aquos they make, but with a 1366x 768 resolution it could definitely be quite a bit bigger.
Enjoyable TV.
