Pros: Great camcorder that is very affordable. Nice features and decent picture quality. Easy to use.
Cons: Tape gets stuck in machine and won't eject. Tiny buttons. No flash or night light.
The Bottom Line: Can be great buy, but tape eject is a problem. Buy with caution!

| asingerkeating's Full Review: Sharp Viewcam VL-Z5U Mini DV Camcorder |
This camcorder is a great buy, there is no doubt about it. All of the things stated in the previous reviews are right on the money. The experience I would like to share is that the tape gets stuck in the camera and sometimes won't pop out like it should. In addition, once it got to this point, it was stuck on "Remove Tape" and wouldn't rewind, play or do anything. The camera worked fine on the first 3 tapes we made. This incident happened on the 4th tape. I don't know if this is just our camera, but after doing some internet research, it appears to be a bit more wide spread. During our vacation, we came to the end of the tape. When we went to pop it out, the ejector wouldn't work and an irreplacable tape was stuck inside, not to mention that we were unable to record anymore of our family vacation. When we got home, I just gave up on it and wanted to send it for service. We just got very busy and recently, I decided to give it a try and it popped right out! I am trying an experiment now with another tape to see if I am careful not to use the tape to the very end, if that solves the problem. I'm certainly not recording anything valuable on it and when it gets close to the end, I intend to try to remove the tape and see what happens. I will keep you posted about my results.
