Pros:None. Nada. There are no redeeming features to this product at all. None. Nada. Nada.
Cons:It's not an a/c, it's just a fan that uses water evaporation.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend they be taken off the shelves, or at least re-promoted as a glorified fan.
I purchased the Slant-Fin for C$147 plus taxes, from Canadian Tire for use in my 26.5 trailer. It was promoted as being a "Portable air-conditioner."
The [air-conditioned] store had one up and running as a demo and it seemed to be OK, so I bought one, took it home and set it up according to directions. This included re-filling the water store bottle, not once as suggested would be necessary, but twice. Then I ran it for a while with no noticeable difference in the room-temperature of the trailer, which had started out /- 80-degrees F.
After re-filling the water bottle again, with cold water from the fridge, I tried again. No luck.
This product is nothing more than a very expensive fan that moves the already too hot air around. It's a waste of money in my opinion.
After all the phoo-fer-ra, I packed emptied the water, wiped off the interior, allowed the filters to dry off, re-packed the unit and took it back for a refund.
On the Customer Service counter, there were three other similar boxes, and a man two spaces behind me in line had another one.
I hope these comments will be relayed to the manufacturer. In my opinion, the manufacturer uses false advertising.....
Please see remainder of my comments in the "Cons" section.
