Pros: easy to adjust, easy to clean
Cons: don't like cone filters
The Bottom Line: I could not live or travel with out my Braun FlavorSelect. It is one of the first things to get packed.

| masonicman's Full Review: Braun FlavorSelect KF 187 12-Cup Coffee Maker |
I have to be the first to admit that I am a coffeeholic. Do they have meeting for that? The Braun FlavorSelect is the coffee pot I take with me when I travel. It is great that most hotels have coffee pots in the rooms now, but two cups? Come on!!!
I like my coffee black and strong, but the Braun does have FlavorSelect where you can make a strong pot of coffee, or a mild one. This is not a feature that I personally use, but I suppose for some it would be useful.
Now, what is useful on this pot is it gives a series of beeps when the coffee is done. I can put it on, snuggle back into bed, and just wait for the beeps.
For forgetful people like me who don't want to burn the hotel down, there is also an adjustable switch off timer. It can be set from 0 to 3 hours and 59 minutes. Mine is set for 1 hour, the time it takes me to get ready and leave the room, so I am never in the elevator wondering if I shut off the coffee pot or not.
I should also mention that the Braun FlavorSelect is the perfect size to pack in a carry on so you don't have to check it with your luggage and worry about it getting broken.
Another feature is that you can set the temperature on the hot plate from warm to hot depending on how hot you like your coffee...Strong, black, and very hot for me please.
I don't clean the pot, but my wife says that it cleans with a simple solution of vinegar water run through. I wouldn't really know about that though.
Of course a big plus is simply the Braun quality that goes into all their products.
From me this is a highly recommended product. I'm not sure I could even live without it.
Oh, by the way, there is one drawback, but it is a small one. I personally hate the cone shaped filters. I don't know what was ever wrong with the universal round ones.
