rollypop's Full Review: Rio Nitrus Street (1.5 GB) MP3 Player
I had really been wanting an mp3 player. I guess like everyone else I wanted an Ipod but did'nt want to pay the extra money for the one I had my eye on.
So I bought the Rio Nitrus, not having an idea about the product. For me at the time, the Rio Nitrus had a 1.5 GB hard drive to store mp3's and for me that is the lowest you would want to go. Also for the money, a 1.5 GB hard drive was a good deal.
Well, it turns out I have enjoyed the Rio Nitrus more than I could have ever imagined. I have owned it for near 12 months and have used it almost everyday within that time.
I was really have been impressed. The sound quality was excellent. Within the Rio Nitrus menu you even have a custom EQ you can change to your liking. This really works and for me provides the best sound over the preset selections ( ex: Rock, Jazz, Classical).
The menu within the Nitrus is very well laid out and the functions and buttons are also easy and well thought out. I have never found myself lost or having any trouble trying to select certain songs, etc.
A few months ago my headphones got in a mess and stopped working. I went out and bought what I thought was a super-saver deal. A set of headphones for $2.99. When used with the Rio Nitrus, these headphones turned out to be, as lame as, cookies without milk. I could'nt believe how superior the Rio headphones were. Very high quality!
Not satisfied with the $2.99 el cheapo headphones. I went out and bought some $15 dollar Panasonic headphones. Turns out these will do, but they are still not as good as the original Rio Nitrus headphones.
On a different note the Rio Nitrus still charges up quickly and with no trouble. I have never thought, Hey, the battery doesnt last long!" It always last longer than me and my desire to jam it up.
On a more Cons side of things. The Rio does have some trouble at times on start up. To me it acts like a personal computer trying to boot up. While it has given me start up problems and some odd message called (Upgrader). I always manage to get it on and working, and this doesn't always happen. But is something to take note of !
The Rio Nitrus also comes with a stop watch kinda timer thing. I have no idea why its on here or how to work it, lol !
Bottom line the Rio is a good product with only some minor flaws. Its worth the buy !
