Pros: ATRAC3PLUS is incredible, Great sound!, long battery!, Lots of Songs 490 on 1 CD!
Cons: No AC adaptor, slow burning (has to make an image of everything)
The Bottom Line: Cheap price,LOTS OF SONGS!, great sound, long battery, displays names, hi quality bass, jog dial, slim size. Anything else you would want?

I was to go on a plane trip for 11 hours, when I decided im sick of bringing so many CD's for me! So I remembered that one of my friends had bought a sony MP3 Cd player.
So i went to one of Sony's Outlets (where they sell refurbished material) and found this CD player for $39.99. I was in shock since my friend had payed $79.99 for a new one that had nothing different than its wrapping. The box contains the CD-player and some plain Sony walkman headphones.
I bought this CD player to replace my RCA one from 1996. That only had 45seconds of skip protection but Sony's G-protection works incredibly.
A new feature that I found is two kinds of G-protections, 1 and 2. 1 is for everyday use and 2 is for those much more bumpy roads and conditions. The Box also contains the ATRAC burning software.
The Software is very easy to use, even a monkey can use it with ease! First its split into two columns on the Left it shows you the songs in whatever folder or CD u have selected and you have a checkbox next to them. On the right side is the list showing what songs are going to be burned or what are alread burned. (Yes you can burn back unto the CD if there is still room on it!) So all you do is select the songs you want from the list and then click the add button.
Another good thing is the fact that you can sort your music into folders, and the CD player has two lines of text capable screen. In other words the CD player shows you the name of the song, the album and the artist. (depends on what you labeled it as underneath the properties of the file). The program also comes with CDDB installed. Its a network of CD's so that when you place a Cd into your drive the network searches for the album track names and artist and automatically puts them in for you. The CD player has 80 hours of playback too. Other useful components are the folder switch buttons and the Jog Dial. But I still love how the CD player says the names of your songs. (the screen scrolls so that the entire name is displayed) I only wish that it had a built in light to illuminate the screen and its buttons. Thats what all developers lack!
Also the ATRAC3 format fits 490 songs from CD's unto 1 and has a maximum of 999 tracks that can be placed unto a single Disc. I placed 15 Music CD's and had only half the CD full with 200 tracks! Each and every one recognized by CDDB.
If you want you can also purchase the package that has the Car kit and i believe an AC adaptor too. That is priced at $89.99 I don't think it was refurbished because it was in its original casing.
I noticed one problem though. When burning MP3's unto a CD you first add all the songs and then when you select burn the computer sits down and spends about 5 - 15 seconds on each song compressing it and making an image of the file. When taking songs off of a CD the moment you click the add button it makes the image of the songs then. and then after that you can burn the CD. Burn time however is up to your CD burner drives speed. I have a 24x burner on a laptop and it takes 2:54 seconds to burn the CD but a couple of hours to make the image. No its not my computer that is slow. Its a 3.06Ghz HT enabled computer with 512MB ram.
