This is a great little camera. Ive owned it for about three years and Ive taken it to Europe and all over the United States. It takes beautiful pictures and the battery life is very very good. I was able to take 200 pictures on a fully charged battery.
PROS:
1. It is very easy to use, I was able to turn it on and start taking great photos instantly. There are many features on the camera that I learned how to use with some experimentation.
2. Zoom quality is beautiful, pictures are crisp. I noticed that some reviewers complained about blurry photos but I never experienced this. Just remember that before you take the picture, press the button down slightly to focus the camera, then when its focused, press all the way down to take the picture.
3. This camera breezes through difficult lighting situations.
4. I have received hundreds of compliments on my pictures taken with this camera, even from trained photographers! Sony really did a great job with this one.
5. The camera is small and sturdy feeling. I have tiny hands and can still hold this camera with ease.
CONS:
1. Video is too shaky. I couldnt use any of the video I shot in Ireland and it was disappointing.
2. Too much background noise in the videos.
3. Lag time with regular point and shoot is a somewhat long wait (about 3 seconds). Lag time using certain features is longer (over five seconds).
4. Expensive accessories.
5. I didnt get an extended warranty and didnt notice that I got a defective camera until two days after the manufactures warranty. $150 just for Sony to look at the camera....this doesnt include any extra fees for repair. MORAL OF THIS STORY: USE ALL OF YOUR FEATURES THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS YOU HAVE THE CAMERA TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS WORKING. There are occasional mess-ups and you want to make sure you can take it back.
