| leisenstein's Full Review: Sony ICD-ST10 (5.5 Hours) Handheld Digital Voice R... |
I bought this to after taking back an ICD-P17 because I could not hear the lecture I was trying to record. This recorder gave me the quality I was looking for and I was able to record a lecture in a noisy lab environment.
It records in stereo, so the sound quality is much better and there is a lot less static and hissing. The mono recorders have to get all their sound from 1 microphone, so if someone moves a chair or slams a book, you cannot hear anything but that sound. With the stereo, you can hear the intonations and depth of the voice and this also helps reduce the effect of surrounding noise.
PROs:
Best sound quality
USB transfers are a must have
External microphone port
Comes with earphones
Comes with carrying case
Cons:
A little pricey
No MP3 format support
External memory cannot be added(SD cards)
Recommended:
Yes
Amount Paid (US$): 130.00
