I bought this tv at Circuit City for $1599 in Febuary 2005. I already had a pretty new Panasonic 27" standard CRT set which was nice, it was simply to big and bulky for my room. I always wanted to get a flat panel LCD HDTV with widescreen for years but they were always way too expensive.

//my decision// I walked in to Circuit City and checked out all the LCD tv's that they had in the store, and then I saw this sony on display. My jaw dropped open with amazement when I saw this Sony KLV-23M1 LCD tv! The picture was absolutley incredible, it was better then the Panasonic one that was $200 more, better then the LG set it even performed better the the Sharp Aquos sets! I asked the salesman his opinion on this tv, and he immediatley said it was the top of the line, best 23" LCD they had. I could not help but agree. I decided on this model and happily walked out with my brand new Sony Wega KLV-23M1 LCD tv.

//set up//

Setting this tv is extremely easy, everything is well packaged in the box. This tv is also extremely light (around 25 pounds) so you don't have to worry about breaking your back lifting this thing. I had this tv out of the box, on my tv stand, and set up with my playstation 2 and Scientific Atlanta 3250HD HDTV cable box 10 minutes after I brought this tv in the house.

//picture// The picture is absolutley outstanding on this tv. It is so clear and you can see all the detail in the show on the HD channels. I watched American Idol on this tv last night and felt like I was really there in the audience watching Carrie Underwood win. Regular tv broadcasts look average but more and more channels are going HDTV and widescreen and in a few years, which is really cool. Just imagine watching all your shows in high definition, it's absoluley amazing. This tv has absolutley amazing picture quality.

//sound// I was amazed with this tv's sound quality! It's outstanding, this tv has some serious bass for being so small, the speakers are really great! It has also is great with high frequencies, it's extremely clear. I could not ask for better sound from a tv this size. If you are going to use this as your main tv, you will probally want to hook this tv up to a surround sound system for the ultimate viewing experience! This tv doesn't get extremely loud but fills the room with sound with no distortion.

This tv has many inputs, and coaxial (for basic cable) 2 composite (yellow, white, red) inputs, 1 S-Video, 1 component input (HDTV), and 1 HDMI (HDTV) input. It also has a set I have my Scientific Atlanta 3250HD cable box, Sony DVP-NS575P DVD player, and Playstation 2 hooked up to this tv and they all look outstanding.

This tv also comes with a nice remote, it controls the tv, cable box, and dvd player. It is comfortable and works great.

You can mount this tv to the wall if you want to. I personally like the way it looks on the stand but would probally look nice if it was mounted too.

A couple things I just wanted to warn you about, and this goes for all LCD's and Plasma's. NEVER SPRAY WINDEX, WATER, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF LIQUIDS ON THE SCREEN, IT WILL DESTROY THE TV!! You can get a special LCD cleaner at compusa, best buy, circuit city, and those stores. You can also use a slightly damp cloth to clean the screen but I would reccomend using the cleaner that is reccomended for LCD's.

In all I am really impressed with my tv and it really works great. It's quite expensive and prices are dropping. I highly reccomend it
