Pros: Best picture on a HDTV in this price range.
Cons: Small top on TV. You will need a separate self for your center speaker.
The Bottom Line: The best HDTV in its price range. I recommend you give this one a serious look if you are in the market for a HDTV.

| kaston1573's Full Review: Sony KP-57HW40 57 in. TV |
After months of research, I decided to purchase the Sony
KP-57HW40. I did side by side comparisons with the equivalent Toshiba, Hitachi and Panasonic. The Hitachi was extremely slow in changing channels, however the picture was the closest to the Sony in quality. The Toshiba was my second choice, but every time I went to demo the two set side by side, I would go back to the Sony.
I have owned the set for about a month and couldn't be happier. The picture is the best in my opinion. It came from the factory ready to go. I plugged it in and was instantly amazed at the picture quality.
Cable is a little fuzzy on the set. That would be expected with a set this large. Direct TV looks good and DVD's are excellent. In fact, I would rather watch a movie at home then at the movie theater. It will make you want to re-watch all your old DVD's over again.
The only complaint is the small self on top. You can't put a very big center on it.
If you are in the market for a HDTV in the $3,000 or less range, then the Sony KP-57HW40 is the one to beat.
