First off I would like to say that the 32inch Wega probably has the best picture on the market in its class (digital TV's such as the XBR Wega's blow it out of the sky).
IT'S FLAT
---------
Because it is flat it has very little glare. Consider this: Looking through a window one can see oneself's reflection if one so please to look at it. However it is very easy to look behind the reflection and see what the window was designed to show, the other side of the wall.
This concept works the same way on the flatscreens.
Generic "bowl" tv's have reflections from above and below as well because of the curved glass, the flatscreen doesn't. In other words, the very few reflections on the flatscreens have to come from the same level of the tv. Ceiling lights will reflect on a bowl, but will not reflect on a flat screen.
WHY I LOVE IT:
--------------
-The picture is awesome
-The silver design is slick
-Front jacks
-Many inputs
-Easy to use menus
WHY I HATE IT:
--------------
I finally gathered all my guts and money to go buy this thing. I go to Circuit City... obviously it's the best buy there, so I get it- without the service contract. I drive it home, carry that heavy son of a gun upstairs, hook up the cable..... nothing. That's right folks it doesn't work. I call Circuit City, and they are kind enough to come pick it up from my house for 40 dollars (free with service contract- well after you pay for it). I decide to give the tv another try, of course buying the service contract with it. This time because of the trouble they deliver it for free to my house in three days.
IT WORKS....!!!!!
but wait....
How come it's fuzzy... I call circuit city, the sales councelor tells me that the Sony tuners are very weak and the tv was really designed for either DVD, Digital Cable, or DSS.. not the analog cable I have... But, they say some of the TV's have better luck than others, and they are willing to deliver yet another one to me for free (i guess i learned to love the service contract). Long behold, I get a clear picture... WOOOHOOO
2 weeks later, my brother turns on the television to watch a dvd. Next thing I hear him yelling "Hey, how come there's no audio on this thing". Now, I don't turn up my tv to ungodly volumes or anything like that, but the speakers seem to be broke. A call to circuit city and a visit from a technician later, it's determined that the speaker processor chip (more technical than I care to know) is fried. Well they yet again have to send me another tv, but this time I have to wait a week because of christmas time business.
IT WORKS....
But wait, the tube (not the casing) is sitting at an angle. Wait it's really bad, even with the tilt correction to the max it still looks odd.
YOU KNOW WHAT....
Forget this tv, I run to circuit city, they refund my money.
I buy the JVC D-series (not as nice :( but it works without a flaw.
NOTE: Circuit City really performed well here, any issue I had was solved quickly...I don't believe it's their fault the tv's don't work, because they were brand spanking new.
