If you are looking for a quality Minidisc player without the $800 price tag, the Sony MD Bundle6 is the way to go. In this package you get the MD recorder, 2 Minidiscs, and a Minidisc portable player.
The Minidisc offers the sound of a CD with the convenience of a tape. Mix and record all your favorite songs from your CDs on the the durable Minidisc. (No more re-winding your tapes with a pencil!!) This player also has both digital and analog output. This makes it usable with both newer and older CD players.
This product allows you to mix portions of songs together, fade songs in or out. It also lets you name your disc and the songs. You can record the songs in any order and then change the order later.
I found that the portable player at about 4" square was a great light weight alternative to the walkman. It's smaller, lighter, and you don't have to flip the tape. The portable player alone retails for about a $100. Also for exercise this is great because it doesn't skip!!
This product is a great gift in that it is virtually ready to go right out of the box. Didn't you always hate getting that one gift, and not having the batteries to use it. Since this system comes with the cables to get it hooked up, and the discs for you to start recording, you can be ready to go in minutes.
Keep your eye out and you can get a great deal on this product. I've seen it on sale quite often.
