| bremick's Full Review: Sony MD Bundle 6 Personal MiniDisc Player |
As indicated on my profile, I love gadgets. I was the first on my block to have a digital camera, a CD-RW, a pentium III computer, an audio CD burner, an MP3 player etc. I, of course, was also the first, and at this point only, one to have a MiniDisc bundle. At the time I purchased it, it was as a replacement for a walkman I used to work out with which had finally worn out. I used it for about 4 months pretty regularly and it worked fine. There were a few problems such as the anti-skip feature didn't really work very well but overall, I was quite satisfied. The Mini-Disc was a high quality, light weight music system. The home recorder worked well, and the ability to put written descriptions on tracks was great.
Given all of that, with the advent of inexpensive CD-RW drives (and the fact that blank CDs are about $0.30 each and the continually improving MP3 technology (which provides even smaller units with no moving parts), I would not spend my money again on the Mini-Disc format.
