| bothamfilms's Full Review: Sony MHC-GX45 CD Shelf System |
the main feature that attracts most people to this model is the sub woofer. shelf speakers can pound out noise, but the sub pumps out bass that a shelf speaker can't match. as shelf systems go, the gx45 bumps like no other.
sound
when sampling this model in the store, it sounds pretty good, but once it is in your house, the sound quality is superb. this is one of the loudest and best sounding systems i have owned or heard, and at only $200, you don't have to cash in your life savings for it. the groove feature allows for more bass or treble if you want it, but separate bass and treble controls would have been nice. i mainly listen to rap and r&b music, so i love the bass, which is what this system was designed for. if you don't like bass or high volumes, pick up another model.
design
Sony always creates sleek, attractive products, and this is no exception. the system looks great, and the sub just looks badass. the only problem with the design is the speaker cords are a little too short, if you want to mount the speakers on anything.
overall
this system gives high volumes, with thumping bass and good quality sound. however, if you're not into bass, this system is not for you. Sony never ceases to amaze.
