My mom bought me this Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N510 as a Christmas present because I constantly "borrowed" my sister's for my own enjoyment.
I was amazed at the quantity and quality of the extra accessories included with my copy, such as a device which can be placed in a car (with the aid of velcro) and provides quick and easy access to functions such as play/stop and skipping over entire stored albums to find the set of songs that you want. It also included a device which is a go-between for a set of headphones and the Net MD itself, which works somewhat like a belt-clip and can be used to skip forwards or backwards over songs, change the volume, play/stop, and skip through albums. Both this clip device and the Net MD itself also include a "hold" function which essentially means that you can snap a sliding button into place which keeps the player from skipping songs/playing/stopping by accident when the buttons are pressed/bumped accidentally. This means you can run/work/play as much as you like without worrying about constantly trying to avoid accidents while listening to your favorite tunes.
I installed and used the included software with no problems, and found it all pleasantly easy to use. It's as simple as connecting the Net MD to a USB port, opening the program, selecting whether you want to add or remove songs from a CD/alternate source, and then waiting as it all gets transferred. It's also easy to use the computer software to rename songs or even entire albums, as well as rearrange them in any order you like.
The mini-disc music storage devices are relatively indestructible through normal wear and tear and come in a variety of colors, making it easy to arrange it so that each one contains albums from a particular genre of music without annoying labels.
I have found plenty of opportunities for use of my Net MD Walkman, at home, work, and especially at school. College sometimes means long waiting-times in-between classes, and the Net MD allows me to fill those gaps with constant entertainment.
