peboru's Full Review: Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
My wife purchased this for me a few years ago as a gift. I prefer first person shooters so she purchased Call of Duty with the console. I surprisingly enjoyed COD eventhough the screen and controls are small. Although the gameplay is not at the level of XBOX, Playstation or PC , the fact that its portable and has decent graphics its a very good console. Over the years, I have purchased a number of games and accessories such as Sony Memory sticks, car charger, Sony Media manager software, carrying cases, etc.
We recently had twins and we are now constantly using the PSP. One of the great uses of the PSP is that you can transfer DVD movies to a Sony Memory Stick. Although it takes a while to transfer the movie its well worth it. I purchased a 4 gb memory stick for around $50 about a year ago and it holds about 7 to 10 movies depending upon the length of the movies. Recently, a local vendor was selling a 8 gb memory stick for $60. There are a number of programs that allow you to transfer movies, music, pictures, video files, etc to the PSP. I purchased Sony's Media Manager for about $25. Our daughter loves watching Mommy & Me and my wife and I watch movies whenever we have time and wherever we are. The rechargeable battery lasts 4 to 5 hours which is much longer than a portable DVD player.
I also connected the device to our wireless internet. I wouldn't buy this console for connecting to the internet since its painful to type in address or queries through the electronic keyboard and a number of websites requires additional software which isn't installed on the PSP.
