| bigdan57's Full Review: Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder |
Have owned my GX300 and VX500 units for several years. Got in on ground floor while they were sky high. Find I can only reuse RW discs even Sony a max of five times and find units very sensitive to discs. Verbatum and Office Depot brands are near useless and the latest flap has been with Memorex 16X DVD-R Discs which just don't work. Units accept the disc and let you set timer and then when it is tried to replay gives you the turkey notice. Sony, Circuit City, an Memorex are all useless in helping with these issues. Next time I'll buy Lite-On or the cheapesst of the cheapest. My preference has been quality: Mitsibuishi, Sony and Panosonic and with $850 worth of Sony DVR recorders and another $2000 worth of Sony TV's Sony has slipped into the gutter for me. Concern in addition to inconsistent performance is non existant customer support.
