| forbiddenlyric's Full Review: Sony RM-V202 Remote Control |
Overview:
This is a basic universal remote from Sony. It can control four different devices including TV, VCR, Cable/Satellite, and DVD player.
Programming:
Programming this remote is simple and explained very well in the manual. Also Sony keeps a good archive of its manuals so if you happen to lose the instructions they are a simple google search away. There are hundreds of codes included in the instructions and also a search function so more than likely there is a code for what you want to control.
Function:
This remote has about the best range of any cheap universal remote that Ive ever used. I only use this remote for my TV so I havent tried using this as a replacement for all my remotes. But I assume that as long as you can find the correct code for the device there wont be any problems. One feature that I particularly like about this remote is the sleep function which seems to be rare among cheaper universal remotes. This remote also has buttons to control DVD players which could be helpful for those wanting to cut down on remotes or lost a remote.
Bottom Line:
If you need a cheap universal remote the Song RM-V202 is about the best you can get. The RM-V202 also includes advanced DVD functions and a sleep button which you might not find on other lower end remotes.
