| swimlaps123's Full Review: Sony TC WE435 Stereo Dual Cassette Deck Single Dua... |
While attractively priced ($130), I was surprised to find out that this deck had Dolby only on the PLAY deck A, but not on the RECORD desk B. For that feature, one must upgrade to the more expense 635 deck ($200). Also, no automatic recording level (apparently) in dubbing mode. Still, for those who don't need the above features, this deck provides very nice performance at a reasonable price. I primarily bought the deck to make copies of old cassettes (i.e. 20-30 years old, from school days) which were starting to deteriorate. Many of the original masters were recorded without Dolby, so making copies with Dolby or some noise reduction / enhancement was desirable. For that reason, I would probably have NOT bought this unit had it been made clear that Dolby RECORD was not possible. This little fact is kind of hidden in the manual as well.
