wolfmann81's Full Review: BIC America DV62CLR Main / Stereo Speaker
I can see why nearly every review on this speaker seems positive. I ordered my center channel through www.accousticsounddesign.com and received this new speaker promptly, and in perfect condition. I have never set up a surround sound system previously, so really have no comparisons from any other center channel I have experienced. However, certainly any center channel bought in a home-theater in a box could not come close to comparing with the quality of this speaker. It is quite large, but it is unquestionably a very nice looking piece of furniture. Maybe others would disagree, but some speakers simply look cheap because of their size and weight. Make no mistake about it, this center channel sounds as quality as it looks. The box it is in is a black wood-like finish, which looks awesome. If you have the room to fit this speaker to where it is going to fit on top of your TV (I have a large HDTV, so it isn't that big of a deal) then certainly be prepared to have a center channel which will perform all of your needs! An important feature also which I like on it is the banana-plug inputs. Many speakers still resort to the frayed-wire method, but plugging into your speaker with a banana plug insures that you are not losing capacity for electrical input. I am currently powering this speaker with a Kenwood VR-7070 receiver (awesome), plugged in with 14 gauge wire (yea, big!). This is my first BIC speaker, but after hearing this one, I will be upgrading my surround sound system to all of the BIC goodies! I have no doubt that the result of all of those speakers will be a perfect match (by both sound quality and aesthetically). This speaker is suggested retail at BIC America for $279 and found it at my local electronics store for $299 (everything is expensive there), but I got it on accousticsounddesign.com for $99 $15S/H, brand new and in perfect working order! All BIC speakers come with a 7 year warranty also! For the money, I have to call BIC the best speakers out there. Infinity certainly makes top speakers, but you will be paying at least twice as much for them. This isn't a sales pitch, just a message from a dang happy customer. Way to go BIC
