Pros: Pretty good sound, good clarity, nicely designed, good price.
Cons: Nope.
The Bottom Line: They sound very good for their size, they last forever and a bit, and they are low-priced. For the money, you can't go wrong.

| radarrider's Full Review: Labtec spin™ 60 2 Speakers |
Usually, when you get something that is made to last, you trade off functionality for durability. A car built to be tough as a tank won't look "boss" and will have trouble getting out of it's own way. The Labtech Spin 60 speakers are built to last, and they sound pretty darned good while they're busy lasting!
So okay, you aren't going to get theater-quality, THX SooperDooper Surround with Dolby B, makes-brave-men-cry-type sound. They won't shatter glass. That guy in the old Memorex commercials would have to reach over and pick up his drink himself. An audiophile would laugh. But what you WILL get is good clarity with a respectable high-low range and pretty good tonal depth. These are more than suitable for 95 percent of people. As has been noted, you won' get the kind of bass that makes the outlines of the room you're in look blurry, but considering that too much bass kills the high end, this is not necessarily a drawback. Well, unless you're listening to hip-hop, which has no high end (or midrange, harmony, melody, or tune for that matter...) to worry about distorting anyway.
The microphone and headphone jacks on the front panel of the right speaker are one of the best points. Very convenient, that. I can record short .wav files or jack in my headphones and enjoy my music without having to run an extra cord to the back of the computer. I love that.
I paid 60 bucks for my Spin 60s in 1999 - Six years ago, when they were very new to the market. They have been through several moves, sat in a freezing cold storage space in Michigan for 5 months, and have outlasted 2 computers, and only now are they showing signs of needing to be replaced. I will be getting another set this week. They have been perfect for my computer, and my needs, and I have been very pleased with them. For a really long time.
