Pros: Thunderous bass
Cons: Wished that it had digital audio optic hookups.
I bought this system back in 2001 from sonystyle. I received an employer discount and it was shipped to my house via freight. The two towers are about 8" wide and 14" depth. They stand about 4.5' tall. The speaker cloth is top rate and the covers are tightly attached with no seams. The left side unit is the main unit that controls the other units. It has a 14' system cord that powers the R hand tower.
The display is light blue and is sharp to view at night from any angle. The remote is long and skinny. It can control other components, Sony or otherwise. Basically, I get soooo many compliments over these past few years about how professional looking and unique this system is. I give credit to the fact that no local retailer has ever sold this, so it's unique.
The 3 satellite speakers are about a 4" tall and 13" wide. They come with plenty of basic speaker wiring. They do an excellent job. The sound detail is crisp and precise. You can control the delay to the rear speakers to help control the echo depending upon the size of your living room area. The system also offers the ability to add-on a wireless infrared rear speaker system. Model #SA-IF70 with wireless transmitter #EMT-70.
Don't EVER underestimate the bass from this system. Can get extremely thunderous. I have no complaints about this system. I've pushed it hard but never had to reach the limit and the sound has NEVER distorted - whether it be the bass or the treble.
Has 5.1 inputs, Aux, TV, and Video.
