Thermador 37 in. SGS365 Gas Cook top –
We remodeled our kitchen last year and put in this fabulous stainless steel cook top as well as the matching stainless downdraft ventilation system. I was sold on Thermador’s quality and value after getting many referrals from others who had put these in. I originally wanted a six-burner cook top, but fell in love with the features of this very special five-burner unit.
WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT?
This cook top has four smaller burners and one large super “turbo” burner (15,000 BTU’s) which I like to uses for huge stir frys or an extra large pot of noodles. Two of the smaller burners have a simmer function (extra low 200 BTU) which turns the cook top off and on and keeps sauces warm without burning them or needing to stir for long periods of time. The unique star shaped burners are essential in delivering even cooking temperatures and remove for easy cleaning.
My favorite part about this cook top is that the layout enables you to have oddly shaped pots stretch across the cook top, so you can use more than one burner for a pan at a time if you like.
The control dials are shielded from the heat and right in front for easy adjustments. There is an elevated part of the cook top which keeps this area cool.
CAN YOU ORDER ACCESSORIES FOR IT?
Yes! There are some available accessories on this one! My husband even surprised me with a Thermador brand grill plate which fits nicely over two of the burners on either side. This is great for pancakes, quesadillas, or just quick grilled cheeses. I also know there is a wok ring that is also sold separately.
CLEANING IS A BREEZE!
Cleaning this cook top is easy because the heavy duty grates easily lift right off of the unit and can either be hand washed or just wiped down. I put mine in the dishwasher. The unit comes with a stainless cleaner, but I just use Windex and the surface easily wipes clean.
OTHER TID BITS…………
This truly surprising thing I noticed about the unit when the contractor was putting it in is that it is a plug in unit and is not hard wired in! If I had known that, then I would have had my husband put it in himself!
LASTLY,
Thermador also sells their cook tops in black or white if you are not interested in stainless, but I love the professional look of the stainless!
There is a one year manufacturer’s warranty on this product!
