Now the time has come for me to tell you all about my most prized Tigger possession. I received this wonderful invention as a gift for my birthday. Now that I think about it I have received about 90 percent of my Tigger collection as either gifts for my birthday or Christmas. Anyway none of these gifts compares to the Tigger Animated Telephone. This phone has got to be the coolest thing ever made to represent a Disney character.
We will start by describing the base of the Tigger Animated Telephone. On the bottom of the phone (flipped over) it is 7 1/2 inches in diameter and is black in coloring. There are several features to the phone that have the controls on the bottom. There is a high/lo switch for the ringer as well as a switch to turn the phone from pulse to tone. The animation feature is also located here and you have the option of having Tigger sing and dance for you every time the phone rings or you can turn it to the off position and have the normal ring tone. This is also where the battery compartment is located. In order to remove the battery compartment cover you must have a Phillips screwdriver. There are also to snaps that hold the cover in place. This phone requires four C batteries in order for Tigger to perform.
The top part of the Tigger Animated Telephone base is orange with black stripes and stands almost 5 inches tall at the center point. The two phone receiver holders and the number pad are also black. There are twelve 1 1/2 centimeter push buttons on the black number pad that are orange. Each one of the buttons is labeled with a black 0-9, a star symbol or a number sign. The numbers 2 through 9 also have letters of the alphabet on them. In the center of the dial pad are two more buttons. One is for the flash feature and one is so you can redial. Just to the right of the number pad is a black demo button. You use this to have Tigger do his song and dance even when the phone is not ringing.
The cord on the Tigger Animated Telephone is roughly 2 feet long when not extended and plugs into the left side of the base as well as the receiver. It and the receiver are orange but the receiver also has black stripes on it. At the top of the base is an opening that leads down into the mechanical components of the phone. This is where a metal piece attached to the bottom of Tigger attaches too. It moves up and down allowing Tigger to move when the phone rings or is in demo mode. The portion of this metal component that stays in view when attached is covered in an orange rubber sheathing that has black stripes. This is the only part of the phone that has not held up over the years. It has small tears all over it but has not come off yet.
Now about the Tigger that sits on top of the Tigger Animated Telephone. He stands 10 inches tall and his arm span is 10 inches. His legs are extended out 2 1/2 inches on both sides. He is made of hard plastic as is the rest of the phone. He has no stripes on the front of him except on his face but the back of him has plenty of black stripes. His nose is the perfect pale pink color that it should be while his belly, jaws, eyes and the inside of his ears are all bright yellow.
The part I like the most about the Tigger Animated Telephone is that every time the phone rings Tigger bounces up and down and all around. His arms move up and down and he sings, The most wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things. Their tops are made out of rubber and their bottoms are made out of springs. Their bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun but the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is Im the only one. At the end of the song it sounds as if Tigger has fallen and a bunch of stuff is tumbling down around him.
The singing and dancing is also the reason my wife threatened to give it away if I did not unplug it. It was driving everyone insane each day. If the phone rang 50 times a day he would sing and dance 5o times a day. I would smile but everyone else would scowl. Oh well not everyone can have great taste. I have since moved the Tigger Animated Telephone into my office and I play it in demo mode for my own entertainment. I would highly recommend that anyone who likes Tigger half as much as I do get this phone. It is awesome. It has held up well, with the exception of that rubber piece, and I am very happy that I own it.
